Post-secondary education and training organizations are eligible to be considered for membership as a National Training Center.* National Training Centers must meet certain eligibility requirements before membership can be granted. Specifically, National Training Centers should possess the capability to provide instruction, or a demonstrated commitment to move toward providing instruction, in alternative fuels, alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs), advanced technology vehicles, and related technologies.

National Training Centers will receive the following benefits:

Curricula and Training

  • Access to industry-recognized and award winning participant/student course and workshop curricula, and materials, about alternative fuels, AFVs and advanced technology vehicles
  • Access to corresponding instructor manuals for courses and workshops once prequalified (only NAFTC members have access to these instructor manuals and materials)
  • Member discount on instructor and student manuals and NAFTC Headquarters’ courses and workshops
  • Licensing access to online NAFTC courses and workshops
  • Participation in train-the-trainer classes, instructor updates, and other professional development activities
  • Media training for NAFTC First Responder courses
  • Access to technical support for NAFTC training, products, and services
  • Opportunity to participate in future NAFTC curriculum development for AFVs and advanced technology vehicles

Industry Information

  • Receive informative NAFTC correspondence, including NAFTC eNews, Clean Alternatives Report (CAReport), and industry and legislative updates, which will keep your institution up-to-date on the AFV and advanced technology vehicle industry advancements
  • Access to the “Member’s Area” section of the NAFTC website, which includes a members-only download area, instructor resources, information on NAFTC Business Meetings, marketing information, and a Member’s Forum

  • Receive professional plaque for organization to display NAFTC membership
  • Expertly created brochures that can be customized with your school’s training and contact information
  • Nationwide strategic marketing of National Training Centers
  • Inclusion on the NAFTC website including a dedicated webpage for each National Training Member. This page will provide information about the school’s training program and link to both the school’s website and the school’s automotive or other program (Note: Information for this page should be submitted by each NTC for inclusion on the school’s dedicated webpage)
  • Submit news releases for possible inclusion in the NAFTC eNews which is distributed to the NAFTC’s membership and Listservs
